Despite enjoying the modern amenities of Citi Field, including its upscale food options and large Jumbotron, New York Mets fans are unable to escape the lingering presence of the cats that used to call Shea Stadium home.

During the 3rd inning of the Mets’ game against the San Diego Padres, the good ol’ cat returned once again much to fans’ anticipation. As soon as the feline entered the match, the match was halted for some time. The playful kitty cat ran behind the home plate when Daniel Murphy was batting, while David Wright was standing on deck waiting.

While it is fun to watch the beautiful cat hop around chasing lasers and beams, it’s another story when it shows up unexpectedly at the backstops. People who paid a lot of money for their seats certainly didn’t see that coming.

The cat started jumping around the backseat, but it ended up running into seats. Surely, this isn’t the last time something like this will occur.
