Born as the second son of Harrison Ford & Mary Marquardt, Willard Ford built a big business all by himself. Unlike his actor-father, he did not get into movies but shared a great relationship with his parents, especially his mother.

Dad Was A Struggler When He Was Born

The former couple Harrison Ford & Mary Marquardt became parents to two sons. Among the two, Willard is the younger one; he was born on 14 May 1969.

Interestingly, at the time of his birth, his parents did not have it all to live a luxurious life. At the time, his dad was still struggling in his acting career with just a few projects in hand. On the other hand, his mother had also started out as an illustrator who progressed into a chef later on.

Furthermore, he also had an older brother, Benjamin Ford, born on 22nd September 1966.

Saw His Parents Separate When He Was 10 Years Old

After witnessing 15 years of their marriage, Ford also witnessed a divorce between his parents.

Harrison and Mary officially separated in 1979. At that time, Willard was just 10 years old. Thus, it is obvious for us to think that this must have left a huge impact on him and his brother.

Regardless of how things ended, his parents stayed on good terms. Since his mother supported him through the initial stages of his career, they always had (still have) a special place for each other in their hearts. So somehow, this cushioned the blow of their separation as well.

Got His Appetite For Business From Her Mother

Like every mother out there, Mary Marquardt also loves her sons and is close to them even today. Even more so, she passed on her business ethics to both Benjamin and Willard – Benjamin is a successful restaurateur and chef, while you know Willard is a successful businessman based in LA.

Moreover, although Mary does not like the limelight these days, we’re sure her sons never fail to make their mother feel special in her own way. In addition to this, Ford and his big brother might also time and again pay a visit to their mom to spend quality time with her.

Harrison Ford’s Relationship With His Kids; Is The Actor Close To Them?

In the 81 years of his life, the actor from Witness has fathered 5 children in total – 4 biological and 1 adopted. He apparently has a very special relationship with each one of his kids. Even more so, during an interview in May 2023, he expressed how he’d “take a bullet” for his children.

As mentioned earlier, Willard and his older brother, Benjamin are the kids from Harrison Ford’s first marriage. The two brothers further have two half-siblings: Malcolm Ford (born in 1987) and Georgia Ford (born in 1990). He fathered them in his second marriage with the late screenwriter, Melissa Mathison. Lastly, in his current marriage to Calista Flockhart, the award-winning actor has an adopted son, Liam Flockhart, born in 2001.

Now that’s a lot of children to keep track of! But, not for Harrison.

Unlike His Dad, Is Well Educated

The businessman holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California in Santa Cruz. In all of America, his university is known for the best programs for humanities and social sciences. Keeping this in mind, Willard opted for a B.A. degree in American Studies.

Unfortunately, for his dad, that was never the case. Mr. Ford was always interested in acting, and thus, never focused on his studies. Moreover, due to his negligence, he was expelled 4 days prior to his graduation. Thankfully, his son did not mirror this mistake of his.

The Businessman Has A Family Of His Own In 2023

It is presumed that Ford no longer lives near his family home in Chicago, Illinois. As a matter of fact, he seems to have moved on with his new life and currently resides in LA, California.

Over and above everything, he has his own family now. As reported, he has a daughter, Guiliana, and a son, Eliel. Although we’re unsure if he’s together with their mother, we believe that Willard’s new family has one great life together in the City of Angels.

Business Ventures

Here is the list of all his businesses.

Ludwig Clothing Company
Willard’s first venture was the Ludwig Clothing Company, a fashion brand known for its premium-casual men’s styles. Their designs draw inspiration from Stanley Kubrick’s iconic 1971 film “A Clockwork Orange” as a tribute to the renowned composer Ludwig van Beethoven.

Strong Sports Gym

Another endeavor of Willard’s was the Strong Sports Gym in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, this gym was adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to its closure in 2020.

Kim Sing Theater

In addition to his clothing company and gym, Willard co-owned the Kim Sing Theater in Los Angeles. This historic theater, constructed in 1926, was purchased by Willard in 1999 and was utilized for various special events, including fashion shows and furniture displays. However, he decided to sell the property in 2014, and it was eventually purchased for $3.3 million in 2016.

Ford & Ching

Alongside his other ventures, Willard co-owns Ford & Ching, a cutting-edge design firm with offices in Los Angeles and New York City. This firm exemplifies his passion for design and his ability to successfully manage and operate multiple businesses.

Will Inherit His Dad’s Wealth?

As one of Harrison Ford’s sons, Willard will surely inherit a small portion of his father’s wealth. Thanks to the star’s 59-year-long career in showbiz, he stands at a whopping net worth of $300 million. Furthermore, this sum is more than enough to be distributed among his 5 children after he’s gone.

Besides talking about William, he is also pretty rich as a businessperson with a net worth expected at over $10 million.
